HIFU & RF Lifting
in Haeundae, Busan
Non-surgical ultrasound and radiofrequency options considered for selected facial laxity, firmness, and contour concerns.
More energy is not always better.Device, depth, treatment area, energy, and shot pattern must match anatomy, tissue thickness, and the degree of laxity.
THE ESSENTIALS
What is HIFU & RF Lifting?
HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy at selected tissue depths. Radiofrequency (RF) devices deliver electrical energy that is converted to heat in targeted tissue. Both are broad categories rather than one identical procedure.
Depending on the device and technique, treatment may be considered for mild laxity, reduced firmness, or facial contour concerns. These treatments do not reproduce the result of surgery and may not suit advanced laxity or every facial shape.
WHO MAY CONSIDER IT
Is HIFU & RF Lifting
right for you?
Mild facial laxity or reduced firmness
A preference for gradual, non-surgical change
A contour concern that matches the selected device and depth
Realistic expectations about subtle improvement and maintenance
Treatment may not be suitable with active infection, open wounds, certain implanted electrical or metal devices, relevant nerve or sensory conditions, pregnancy, severe laxity requiring another approach, or recent procedures in the same area. All fillers, threads, energy treatments, and surgery should be disclosed.
YOUR VISIT
From assessment
to aftercare
Anatomy assessment
The physician evaluates laxity, fat distribution, skin thickness, facial shape, sensitivity, and previous procedures.
Device selection
HIFU, RF, another treatment, or no procedure is selected according to the target tissue and clinical goal.
Energy treatment
The treatment area is mapped and energy is delivered using device-specific depth and settings.
Aftercare
Expected tenderness, swelling, sensation changes, skin care, and warning signs are explained.
PLAN AROUND YOUR TRIP
Downtime & aftercare
Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, tingling, bruising, or altered sensation may occur. Some discomfort can last beyond the treatment day. Rare but important risks include burns, blisters, prolonged numbness or pain, contour change, unwanted fat loss, and temporary or persistent nerve-related symptoms.
General aftercare
Avoid rubbing, strong massage, and irritating procedures unless advised.
Use gentle skin care and sun protection.
Follow guidance on heat exposure, alcohol, and strenuous exercise.
Allow time for gradual change rather than expecting an immediate final result.
Contact the clinic for blistering, marked asymmetry, weakness, severe pain, or persistent sensory change.
Have an important event or flight? Tell us your departure date and event schedule. We will discuss whether the treatment and expected recovery fit your itinerary.
CHOOSING APPROPRIATELY
HIFU or RF?
Focused ultrasound
Targets selected depths with focused ultrasound and may be considered when deeper support or contour is a priority.
Controlled tissue heating
Device-dependent RF may focus on dermal tightening, deeper bulk heating, or combined goals.
When energy is not enough
Skin boosters, toxin, volume treatment, threads, or surgery address different causes and are not interchangeable.
HIFU and RF are categories containing many devices with different energy delivery and evidence. The most suitable option depends on anatomy, tissue target, prior treatment, and acceptable risk—not simply the strongest device.

Frequently asked questions
Which is better, HIFU or RF?+
Neither is universally better. They deliver energy differently, and the appropriate choice depends on the target depth, tissue thickness, laxity, facial fat, device, and treatment goal.
Will I see an immediate lift?+
Temporary change may relate to swelling or tissue contraction, but meaningful improvement is generally assessed gradually. Results vary and may be subtle.
Can lifting treatment make my face look thinner?+
Contour change may occur, but unwanted fat loss is also a concern in lean faces or with inappropriate treatment. Facial volume and tissue thickness must be assessed first.
Is one session enough?+
The plan varies by device, treatment intensity, age, anatomy, response, and goals. Maintenance may be discussed, but unnecessary repeated energy should be avoided.
Can I combine HIFU and RF?+
Sometimes, but combination is not automatically superior. Timing, total energy, target depth, recent procedures, and recovery must be planned carefully.
Can I fly after treatment?+
Many patients can travel, but swelling, tenderness, or sensory symptoms may occur and follow-up is harder after departure. Share your itinerary before treatment.
