Pigmentation
in Haeundae, Busan
Personalized laser and skin-care planning for freckles, sun spots, uneven tone, dullness, and selected pigmentation concerns.
Not every brown spot is the same.Freckles, solar lentigines, melasma, post-inflammatory pigmentation, and other lesions behave differently. Treatment begins with diagnosis.
THE ESSENTIALS
What is Pigmentation?
Pigmentation treatment is not one single procedure. The physician first evaluates the pattern, depth, distribution, skin type, recent sun exposure, inflammation, medicines, and previous laser response.
Depending on the diagnosis, options may include a pigment-targeting laser, lower-fluence treatment, vascular or resurfacing approaches, topical care, sun protection, observation, or a combination over time.
WHO MAY CONSIDER IT
Is Pigmentation
right for you?
Freckles or sun-related spots after medical assessment
Uneven skin tone or dullness with a suitable diagnosis
Post-inflammatory dark marks after the active inflammation is controlled
Realistic expectations about recurrence and sun protection
Treatment may be postponed with recent tanning or intense sun exposure, active dermatitis, infection, uncontrolled inflammation, photosensitizing medicines, pregnancy-related considerations, or a history of abnormal pigment response. Melasma can worsen with heat, irritation, or overly aggressive treatment.

Treatment selection
Laser type, settings, test treatment, topical care, or observation is chosen according to diagnosis.

PLAN AROUND YOUR TRIP
Downtime & aftercare
Recovery differs widely by treatment. Some procedures cause only temporary redness, while spot treatment may cause darkening, fine crusts, or visible marks before improvement. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or lightening can occur, especially when treatment is too aggressive or after sun exposure.
General aftercare
Use broad-spectrum sun protection consistently.
Do not pick, scrub, or peel treated spots.
Use only the cleansers, moisturizers, and topical products advised.
Avoid tanning, unnecessary heat, and irritating procedures during recovery.
Contact the clinic for blistering, severe pain, spreading redness, or unexpected pigment change.
Have an important event or flight? Tell us your departure date and event schedule. We will discuss whether the treatment and expected recovery fit your itinerary.
CHOOSING APPROPRIATELY
The diagnosis changes the plan
Discrete pigment
A pigment-targeting approach may be considered when individual lesions are clearly defined.
Chronic patterned pigment
Gentle, long-term management and trigger control are often more important than aggressive spot removal.
Pigment after irritation
Controlling acne, dermatitis, or the original inflammation is part of preventing recurrence.
This is a simplified guide. Similar-looking brown lesions can require very different management, and complete or permanent clearance cannot be guaranteed.
BEFORE YOUR VISIT
Frequently asked questions
Which laser is best for pigmentation?+
There is no single best laser. The correct choice depends on the diagnosis, pigment depth, skin type, lesion size, previous response, and acceptable downtime.
Will one session remove my spots?+
Some discrete lesions may respond noticeably, while melasma or mixed pigmentation often requires ongoing management. Recurrence is possible.
Can pigmentation become darker after laser?+
Yes. Temporary darkening, crusting, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or worsening of melasma can occur. Appropriate diagnosis, settings, and aftercare reduce but do not eliminate risk.
Can I have treatment after a beach trip?+
Recent tanning or strong sun exposure can increase the risk of burns and pigment change. Tell the clinic about your travel and sun exposure before booking.
Can I wear makeup afterward?+
This depends on the procedure and skin condition. The physician will tell you when cleansing, cosmetics, and active skin-care products can be resumed.
Is brightening treatment the same as skin whitening?+
The aim is to address diagnosed uneven pigmentation and support a more even tone—not to guarantee a different natural skin color.
